Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes went down early in the second quarter of Thursday Night Football. The 2018 MVP attempted a QB sneak on 4th-and-1; while doing so, injuring his right leg. He waived off a cart before limping — with the assistance of his teammates — off the field. Shortly after, the Chiefs ruled him out for the rest of the game.

Further videos show that the training staff appeared to have popped Mahomes' right kneecap back into place. If he suffered a dislocated knee cap, he will be dealing with considerable swelling. Meaning, he will likely leave Denver on crutches. Due to the altitude, flying on a team airplane back to Kansas City may be delayed.

If Mahomes suffered a dislocated knee cap, he could have suffered any number of injuries, including ligament damage. Though the Chiefs took him in for X-Rays shortly after, an MRI will likely tell what happened in full. News on what exactly happened likely won't be revealed until after the results of the MRI come back. Essentially, nothing is definite until something is.

Before suffering the injury, Mahomes had 76 yards and a touchdown on the night, while going 10 of 11 as a passer. In the Chiefs' first offensive drive, he broke Kurt Warner's record for the quickest quarterback to hit 7,500 career passing yards (24 games). Veteran Matt Moore entered the game in place for Mahomes and will play the rest of the game barring an injury.

Mahomes entered the Week 7 bout leading the NFL in passing yards (2,104) while also throwing 14 touchdowns to one interception.
