The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV, 31-20. Led by Patrick Mahomes, they overcame a 20-10 deficit to pull off their victory.

The Chiefs mounting another double-digit comeback managed to put Mahomes in the history books for accomplishing a highly impressive feat. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Mahomes became the first quarterback in NFL history to lead three double-digit comebacks in a single postseason.

The initial comeback from the Chiefs' playoff run came in the Divisional Round when they trailed 24-0 to the Houston Texans. Kansas City managed to score 28 unanswered points after falling down by 24 points and actually held a 28-24 lead at the half. The Chiefs went on to win 51-31.

Next on the list was the Chiefs' 35-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game. Kansas City found themselves trailing 17-7 but they still managed to overcome a team led by Derrick Henry's rushing prowess.

The ability to persevere through tough circumstances within a game shined through for the Chiefs yet again, but this time it was on the biggest stage. They managed to win their first Super Bowl in 50 years a year after falling to the New England Patriots in overtime during the 2019 AFC Championship Game.

It has become abundantly clear that Mahomes has a truly special talent and has begun building a resume that could one day rival even the greatest quarterbacks to ever play NFL football. To put it into perspective, he's the youngest player to ever win an MVP and win a Super Bowl.
