The news didn't come as a surprise to NFL fans as Patrick Mahomes' legendary career continues to progress. The Super Bowl LIV MVP is still fresh from inking a whopping 10-year contract extension worth $477 million with another $26 million in potential bonuses, for a total of $503 million.

The two-time Pro-Bowler tallied 4,031 yards, 218 rushing yards, 28 total TDs, and 5 INTs in the 2019 season. Despite missing out on a second straight MVP award, he was able to take his team to the Super Bowl LIV to win it all. He was also named as the championship game's most valuable player.

The 2018 NFL MVP will look to continue his winning ways as they enter the upcoming 2020 season. Week 1 action will commence with the Chiefs locking horns with the Houston Texans at the Arrowhead Stadium on September 10.
