Due to a hit from Cleveland Browns linebacker Mack Wilson, Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes is now in the NFL concussion protocol.

With the Chiefs currently gearing up to host the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game and Kansas City's star player attempting to recover in time to return to the fold for the weekend, the family of Patrick Mahomes is none too pleased with the aforementioned — especially his mother.

It is worth noting, though, that Patrick Mahomes and Wilson have already cordially gone back and forth on Twitter to clear the air, with the latter wishing the former well in his recovery.

Patrick Mahomes, who has already won a NFL MVP Award, Super Bowl MVP Award and Super Bowl title as a member of the Chiefs, was forced to exit last weekend's matchup against the Browns during the third quarter and did not return to the game.

Under highly adverse and unexpected circumstances, the Chiefs were forced to lean on journeyman backup quarterback Chad Henne, who somehow led the defending Super Bowl champions to a narrow victory over the pesky Browns with Patrick Mahomes out.

With the Chiefs winning the AFC in the 2020 regular season, which earned Kansas City a first round bye to begin the postseason, the surging Bills will head to Arrowhead Stadium to meet Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City as the conference's No. 2 overall seed. Prior to reaching this season's AFC title game, the Bills defeated both the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens as a matchup against the Chiefs is no doubt a whole different monster.

Patrick Mahomes' eventual status for the upcoming clash between the Chiefs and Bills will be something to monitor throughout the week.

The Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills this upcoming Sunday at 6:40 p.m. Eastern time. The game will be televised by CBS.
