After notching the franchise record for postseason touchdowns, Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes racked up another NFL career milestone, surpassing Hall of Fame Miami Dolphins gunslinger Dan Marino for most passing touchdowns in his first 35 games.

According to NFL Research on Twitter, the 24-year-old Mahomes has thrown 86 touchdowns through 35 games—including Kansas City's playoff games during the former tenth-overall pick's tenure under center.

Mahomes in his sophomore season during the 2018-19 campaign threw 50 TD's in 16 regular-season games and three in two postseason matches. For the Texas Tech product's (regular-season) heroics, he was awarded the 2018 NFL MVP award. During the 2019 season, Mahomes notched 26 passing touchdowns and has thrown seven and counting in the 2020 playoffs.

Patrick Mahomes has jumped out of the gate immediately as one of the league's most exhilarating young players, with the quarterback exhibiting tremendous arm strength and accuracy, bending passes at nearly any angle and under duress. While the Chiefs signal-caller isn't exactly known for his legs, Mahomes also scored a touchdown on the ground to give Kansas City a four-point lead at halftime in the AFC Championship Game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon.

The Chiefs were in a similar position this time last year but lost to Tom Brady and the eventual-champion New England Patriots in the conference title game during the 2018-19 postseason. Patrick Mahomes and the AFC West franchise have a chance to earn a berth to Super Bowl LIV—which would be their first appearance in the big game since 1970 (winning Super Bowl IV).
