New Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Josh Gordon has impressed since signing with the team following his NFL reinstatement, and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has noticed.

Gordon just got activated to the 53-man roster ahead of this weekend's battle against the Buffalo Bills. Needless to say, Mahomes is excited:

Mahomes and the Chiefs don't necessarily need another weapon offensively given just how explosive they are already, but they certainly won't complain about it. If Gordon can stay on the field and show anything close to the form of earlier in his career, a ridiculous offense will only get better.

Gordon last played in the NFL as a member of the Seattle Seahawks in the 2019 season. He also spent time with the New England Patriots that season. His career has been marred by suspensions, the latest of which kept him off the field in 2020.

It's easy to forget that Gordon was a First-Team All-Pro member in just his second season in the league. Of course, that was way back in 2013, and it's not realistic to expect him to approach that kind of production. However, it wasn't too long ago that he was a productive wideout for New England, catching 40 passes for 720 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games in 2018.

We'll see what Josh Gordon brings to the Chiefs in his return to the NFL this weekend.
