Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a year for the ages in 2018. In just his second season in the NFL (and first as a starter), Mahomes threw for 5,097 yards and 50 touchdowns.

Mahomes led the Chiefs to the best record in the AFC and won the MVP award along the way. This has created a pretty sizable fanbase for the quarterback. As we know, fans can get a little passionate.

While making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Patrick Mahomes received a surprise from one fan in particular. That surprise was the fan turning around and lifting his shirt to show a tattoo of Mahomes that he had on his lower back.

As you can see, the tattoo was labeled “Champ Stamp”. Pretty clever considering it's in the designated “tramp stamp” spot. However, Mahomes and the Chiefs aren't champs yet – so it's a bold assumption.

Props to the quarterback for taking it in stride. It's got to be difficult to get used to people tattooing you on their bodies. However, he's probably gotten a little more used to it in the last year.

Still, being approached on National TV and shown a tattoo on someone's lower back like that is enough to surprise anyone. Mahomes laughed it off though, and he is even shown signing the tattoo at the end of the video.

Now the real question is, did the man make it permanent? Did he go back to the tattoo artist and have him tattoo the signature onto the rest of the piece?

Hopefully we get an update on that. For now though, Patrick Mahomes should worry about making that tattoo true by leading the Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl title in 2019.
