Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and wide receiver Tyreek Hill haven't been together long but they are already becoming quite the duo. Earlier this week Chris Simms and Mike Florio called Hill the best receiver in the NFL.

Chris Simms made the case for Hill on Monday’s PFT Live, and I agree with Simms (for a change). The strongest argument is this: Of all the great receivers in the NFL right now, and there are more than a few, which one would you want on your favorite team?

And in answering that, considering not only production but impact. Hill must be accounted for, everywhere he goes. Hill must be double-covered, everywhere he goes. Hill, who will still get his catches, yards, and touchdowns even with the extra attention, opens up the offense like no other player currently in the NFL.

Hill currently has 567 receiving yards and six touchdowns through six games and when Mahomes needs someone to throw it deep to, you can find hill streaking down the sideline.

Pete Sweeney of Arrowhead Pride asked Mahomes about Simms comments and the second-year quarterback said Hill is the most explosive wide receiver league.

“Yeah, to me he’s definitely the most explosive person in the league,” Mahomes said. “The way he’s developed as a receiver over these last few years I know he’s going for that top spot. I know there’s a lot of great receivers in this league, but I’m glad I have Tyreek (Hill) on my team for sure.”

Mahomes also pointed out that as impressive as Hill is, he is just a piece of the puzzle for the Chiefs and it's a total team effort that gets the job done.
