Former Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver Dez Bryant has been a free agent since the New Orleans Saints cut him in Nov. 2018 after shortly suffering an Achilles tendon tear. What about playing for defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs for the 2020 NFL season? Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn't up for pitching Bryant on the opportunity, however.

Per Terez Paylor in Yahoo Sports:

“He’s obviously a very talented player, someone I watched as a little kid growing up,” Mahomes said. “But I leave stuff like that to [general manager Brett] Veach and let him make the decisions. Obviously, [Veach] lets me know some of the stuff he’s doing here and there, but I’m blessed to be with a great organization [with] a great general manager, a great head coach and great people around them. I mean, they brought in the Honey Badger [Tyrann Mathieu] and Frank Clark last year, and you saw how much that helped out. So, I know they’ll make the right decisions that will put us in the best situation to win.”

The Chiefs are obviously built to stay winning in 2020, barring several unforeseen moves during free agency this spring, but Bryant, a three-time Pro Bowl receiver with the Cowboys, has been out there for the taking since his ill-timed injury.

Mahomes had no shortage of weapons for his weekly target practice during the 2019 season and 2020 postseason, with star tight end Travis Kelce eclipsing over 1,000 receiving yards along with potential options at wide receiver in Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins.
