Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver seems to have changed his ways since coming into the NFL and is not focused on his individual stats, instead worry about how he can help get the Chiefs to the Super Bowl. There was a point when Watkins was with the Buffalo Bills that he called out the team for not using him enough, but that isn't something he will be doing this year.

“(It’s) just a different mindset,” Watkins said via The Kansas City Star. “I feel like when I was getting all my targets and stuff like that, we was losing. It’s a team game. It’s a team goal. I kind of let that control me off the field, on the field in how I was coming to work every day. Now, I just kind of let it go. I understand here it’s a different perspective.

Watkins has gotten a bit overshadowed on the offense because of all the other stars on the team, but he is still playing well this year and is a huge part of the offense. He has 22 receptions for 272 yards and a touchdown.

Watkins said coming into the league he was focused on if he was getting 100 yards a game. But now, he knows if someone throws a double team on him, that is helping the team too.

He also realizes that the Chiefs are just so stacked with offensive weapons and that his main focus should be ultimate goal should be winning the big one over personal stats.

“You’ve got so many guys. I mean Tyreek, me, Chris Conley, a frigging running back that get 1,500 yards, Travis Kelce who is a tight end that can get 1,000 yards. Tyreek is every bit a guy that can get another 1,000 yards. I’m capable of getting 1,000 yards. Chris Conley is capable. We’ve got (Demarcus Robinson) who is capable. … I can’t let my focus go to focusing on stats and yards when, shoot, we’re 5-1. Super Bowl is the goal.”

It's a good thing that Watkins has changed his attitude because the last thing this team needs is for a drama queen to come in and ruin what this team is building.
