The Kansas City Chiefs will be without one of their offensive weapons on Sunday against the Houston Texans. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, wide receiver Sammy Watkins is not expected to play as he battles a hamstring injury.

Watkins failed to practice all week as he deals with the hamstring injury. He left Week 5's 19-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts early with the injury, which was aggravated during the game. His out designation on Sunday should come as no surprise, considering his missed time.

Week 6 will be Watkins' first game missed in 2019. He has failed to play a full season since 2014, his rookie year. In 2018, his first season with the Chiefs, the wideout missed six games. The bulk of his injuries have been foot, calf or groin ones.

For the season, Watkins has 23 receptions (60.5% catch rate) for 365 yards and three touchdowns. Most of his production came in a standout Week 1 performance, as he lit up the Jacksonville Jaguars to the tune of nine receptions (11 targets) for 198 yards and three touchdowns. He did not record a single statistic against the Colts.

In related news, fellow Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill is listed questionable for the game with a shoulder injury. Per Schefter, he will test it pregame to see how he feels before a final decision is made. He is believed to have a “serious chance” to play, which would be his first playing time since Week 1.

The Chiefs host the Texans at 1:00 p.m. EST. Kansas City is 4-1, Houston sits at 3-2.
