Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins will play in his team's Divisional Round matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday afternoon, according to Brooke Pryor of The Kansas City Star.

Watkins has been dealing with a foot injury that has kept him out of action since the middle of November.

He originally sustained the injury in Week 9 and missed the Chiefs' Week 10 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He then returned the following week, but re-aggravate the issue and has been sidelined ever since.

On the year, Watkins hauled in 40 receptions for 519 yards and three touchdowns.

He signed a three-year, $48 million contract with Kansas City back in March.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Clemson University, was originally selected by the Buffalo Bills with the fourth overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, but he has been a fairly big disappointment.

Watkins did have a good rookie campaign, catching 65 passes for 982 yards and six scores. He then followed that up with a very impressive sophomore season, snaring 60 balls for 1,047 yards while reaching the end zone nine times.

However, since then, Watkins' career has been marred by injuries and poor performance.

Following a 2016 season in which he played in just eight games and registered 28 catches for 430 yards and a couple of scores, Watkins was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, where he took the field 15 times and finished with a mere 39 receptions for 593 yards and eight touchdowns last season.

The Chiefs won 12 games on the season, capturing the AFC West title and locking up the No. 1 seed in the conference.
