Skip Bayless can be the biggest critic of really good players at times. We know this. His latest target? Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and MVP frontrunner, Patrick Mahomes. Bayless did not react too kindly on Undisputed to Mahomes' performance against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night.

“Patrick Mahome-boy cannot take the Chiefs home. We have seen the wheels start to wobble and come off really over the last four-straight games.”

The Chiefs fell by a score of 29-28, dropping them to 11-3 and into a tie (record-wise) with the Chargers for first place in the AFC West. Kansas City currently holds the tiebreaker by way of divisional record, but with three games left to play, things could certainly change.

But does Skip have a point about Mahomes?

It doesn't seem like it.

On Thursday, Mahomes completed 24 of his 33 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns. Hardly a bad night. Last week in an overtime win over the Baltimore Ravens, he went 35-for-53 with 377 yards, two scores, and an interception. He threw four touchdowns without a pick in a victory over the Oakland Raiders on Dec. 2, and back on Nov. 19 in a loss to the Los Angeles Rams, Mahomes tossed six touchdown passes and lofted up three interceptions.

Not really sure what Skip is looking at, but that is hardly a bad four-game stretch. Sure, the three picks against the Rams did hurt, but the kid also hit the back of the end zone six times.

Overall this season, the 23-year-old Mahomes has thrown for 4,543 yards, 45 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 67.1 percent of his passes, good for a blistering passer rating of 114.8.

Maybe Bayless should check the numbers.
