Stack your paper, Tyrann Mathieu! Details about his new contract with the Kansas City Chiefs have just been released, and the kid is making bank.

NBC Sports is reporting that the contract Mathieu just signed gives him a $26.8 million guaranteed payout, which makes him one of the highest-paid defensive backs in the league.

He's certainly got an elite breakdown of salary, and the best part for him is, he's getting all of this with only a guarantee of having to play for three seasons.

Ultimately, Mathieu's contract is for three years and $42 million.

Here's the complete breakdown of his payday, per NBC Sports.

“1. Signing bonus: $14.8 million.

2. 2019 salary: $850,000, fully guaranteed.

3. 2020 salary: $11.15 million, fully guaranteed.

4. 2021 salary: $14.55 million, fully guaranteed.”

Best of all, for a young player like Tyrann Mathieu, who isn't even close to 30 years old, he can go back on the market and make more money for himself, or choose to retire, or pick up some sponsorships, or whatever else he'd like to do without expending too much effort in the matter. Few, if any, professional players who are that young can say as much these days.

Prior to and after the start of the new league year, the Chiefs rostered the highest-paid safety in the NFL, albeit two different players.

Kansas City released injury-plagued All-Pro Eric Berry ($13 million AAV) and officially signed Tyrann Mathieu ($14 million) in the span of a few hours.

The Honey Badger bet on himself in 2018 and won, turning a one-year, $7 million prove-it deal with the Texans into a three-year, $42 million contract with the Chiefs.
