The Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce is making a case for himself as the best player at his position in the league. Kelce has reaped the benefits of gun slinging quarterback Patrick Mahomes and finds himself within reach of the single-season receiving yards record for a tight end held by New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

The Chiefs have two games remaining this season and considering how fantastic he has been this season, 108 receiving yards is more than attainable. Gronkowski holds the record at 1,327 yards and right now Kelce sits at 1,220 yards at this point in the season.

Kansas City will take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football and although the Seahawks are a tough matchup, Kelce is a special talent capable of getting the best of any defensive unit.

Kelce has quite the connection with Mahomes and although wide receiver Tyreek Hill completes the flashy plays, Kelce has been the most reliable option all season. The tight end position is not exactly full of elite players in the league right now, but Kelce has proven to be that type of player since joining the league a handful of years ago.

Kelce already has his highest yardage total out of the six seasons he has played. His previous best was in 2016 with 1,125 yards. The Chiefs have arguably one of the most explosive offenses in the league next to the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Rams.

Mahomes looks to get the ball to his incredibly athletic tight end often so it's very likely history will be made on Sunday Night Football.
