With this year's installment of the Super Bowl right around the corner, players from both the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs have begun partaking in all of the media availability that comes with making the trip to Miami.

However, many players — including Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce — are not yet focusing solely on the Super Bowl at hand, but also the loss of Los Angeles Lakers legendary shooting guard Kobe Bryant, who tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash over the weekend.

Kelce made a point to note that Bryant's “legacy” and his “Mamba Mentality” will live on forever.

Kelce and the Chiefs reached Super Bowl LIV by way of defeating both the Houston Texans and the Tennessee Titans en route to becoming AFC Champions. Now, the No. 2 seeded Chiefs will look to capture a title with the surging 49ers standing in the way of that dream. Super Bowl LIV is scheduled for Sunday evening in Miami.

Unfortunately, this year's NFL title game will take place in the shadow of Bryant, whose passing has widely affected those around the globe and especially those within the wide world of sports. With much more than the NBA gearing up to honor Bryant, it remains to be seen as to whether or not the NFL follows suit during or before Super Bowl come Sunday.

Bryant notably spent his entire NBA playing career as a member of the Lakers before ultimately retiring following the 2016-17 season. Both his No. 8 and No. 24 jerseys have already been retired by the franchise.
