The Kansas City Chiefs won their first Super Bowl in 50 years while head coach Andy Reid won the first of his career. It was a feat that players like Travis Kelce were hoping to accomplish in honor of their coach.

After the game, Kelce told the media the Chiefs ‘got that ring' for Reid, who is also known as “Big Red” by his players. Kelce said that Reid is now ‘married to us forever' likely referencing the ring that everyone in the organization will get for winning the big game.

During his time as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Reid was close to winning Super Bowl XXXIX against the New England Patriots. His team came within striking distance after Greg Lewis caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Donovan McNabb. They ended losing 24-21 after David Akers converted on a game-deciding field goal.

Reid never managed to come any closer to winning a Super Bowl since coming up barely short against Bill Belichick's Patriots. That was until Reid took over for the Chiefs and the team built a special roster led by Patrick Mahomes, which he showed his appreciation for after winning the title.

“Absolutely,” Reid said, via Paul Domowitch of The Philadelphia Inquirer. “Love these guys right here, man. And all those guys that came before; love you too, man. That’s what it’s all about. Great team, great coaches. Appreciate every bit of it.”

The resume Reid has built should make him an absolute lock for the Hall of Fame after he decides to retire. He is one of the winningest coaches in the history of the NFL and now has a championship to his name to add to it.
