Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is no stranger to television. He starred in his own reality show “Catching Kelce” back in 2016. And now, he’s trying his hand at some actual acting.

Per Brandon Wright of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Kelce will make an appearance on a new show starring actor John C. Reilly, of Chicago, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and Talladega Nights fame. The show still doesn’t have a name and hasn't been picked up by a network yet, but Kelce is hopeful that will happen in the coming months so that everyone will get to see his acting chops.

“We really don't know what network will pick it up, but I got to work with John C. Reilly,” Kelce told Cleveland.com. “I already knew John was one of the most talented people in the acting world, and to see it live and to be in a scene with him was unreal. Right now it's being pitched, so hopefully someone will pick it up in the next few months,” Kelce said. “I'm only in one of the episodes but I had the pleasure of working with a great group of actors.”

Kelce is coming off another terrific year for the Chiefs in 2017 as he had 83 catches for 1,038 yards and eight touchdowns. At 28 years of age, he’s still in the prime of his NFL career, so there’s no need for him to find another job anytime soon.

But between this cameo and his reality show, it seems clear that there’s something about show business that speaks to him. When it comes time for Kelce to hang up his cleats, don’t be surprised if he chooses to spend his post-playing days doing some more stuff on TV.
