The winning streak is finally over. The Kansas City Chiefs have just suffered their first loss in nearly a year, following Sunday's 40-32 loss to the Oakland Raiders. For his part, Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu can only see the silver lining in the defeat.

According to Mathieu, he considers this to be a great learning experience for the Chiefs:

“We’ll learn from it,” Mathieu said, via Nate Taylor of TheAthletic.com (h/t Josh Alper of NBC Sports). “We haven’t lost a football game in a while. It’s good to have some motivation. We won’t ever forget this day. We’ll see them again. We’ll be ready next time.”

Sunday's loss puts an end to a 13-game winning streak by the defending champs, which includes 10 straight regular season victories, as well as three consecutive wins in the playoffs. As they always say, all good things must come to an end, and for the Chiefs, this came in the form of the Raiders.

Mathieu sent out a pretty stern warning for Oakland here, making a bold claim about the Chiefs being ready for them when these two teams meet again. Mathieu and Co. will need to wait several weeks before they get their shot at revenge, though, with the rematch between these two sides scheduled for Week 11.

The Chiefs will need to dust themselves off quickly now, with a matchup against an undefeated Buffalo Bills scheduled next week. That's going to be a huge one for Kansas City, as two straight losses could spell trouble from what has been a tremendous season for them thus far.
