Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have just made his historic extension official. And his teammates are already congratulating him. Tyrann Mathieu, who's entering his second year with the Chiefs, shared his reaction to Mahomes' extension with Kansas City on Twitter.

Even though he's entering his fourth season in the NFL, Mahomes has proven that he's the best quarterback in the NFL. The Texas Tech product has accumulated 9,128 yards, 76 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions in the past two seasons alone.

From his no-look passes to his 50-yard heaves with ease, Mahomes has proven to be a once-in-a-generation type player. Therefore, it shouldn't come as a surprise that he'll become the richest player in sports history — not just NFL history.

Before signing with the Chiefs, Mathieu spent a season with the Houston Texans in 2018. As a result, he got a chance to play on the same team as Deshaun Watson. While Watson has shown he can be an elite quarterback in the NFL, Mathieu realizes that Mahomes is a special talent.

Besides congratulating his quarterback, Mathieu proceeded to point out that his locker is across from the richest player in the NFL.

Last offseason, Mathieu inked a three-year, $42 million deal with the Chiefs. Despite Mathieu becoming one of the highest-paid safeties, his contract seems to be rather minuscule compared to what Mahomes is going to earn.

Mahomes has done more than enough in his career already to garner a lucrative contract, including winning a Super Bowl. While he's going to become a richer man, it's also nice to see the Chiefs signal-caller earn the support of his teammates.
