The Kansas City Chiefs are about to discover what life will be like for them after the Alex Smith era, but as early as now, wide receiver Tyreek Hill believes that his team’s offense is going to be through the roof with him and quarterback Patrick Mahomes leading the way.

Showing that he has all the confidence in the world in his tandem with Mahomes, Hill said that he thinks they are going to be the top 1-2 punch in the NFL, per Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.

“I feel like me and Pat could be the best,” Hill said regarding teammate Patrick Mahomes.

It’s a grand assessment of their abilities, especially since Mahomes only has appeared in one game so far in his nascent NFL career. He spent most of 2017, his first year in the league, as an understudy to Smith. Mahomes' only experience in an NFL regular-season game came in a December start against the Denver Broncos on the road, completing 22 of 35 passes for 284 yards with zero touchdowns and an interception in a 27-24 win.

But if there’s one play that summarizes the immense potential of Mahomes and Hill, it’s got to be the 69-yard bomb of a touchdown pass the former threw to the latter during last week’s 28-14 preseason win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Hill, however, knows that the Chiefs are more than about him and the second-year signal-caller.

“There are other things that tie into this offense,” Hill said. “It’s not only me and him on the field. We have a lot of great weapons on this team. That’s what I am most happy for, just to be able to play with my teammates and my brothers and be able to make plays with those guys. I’m excited.”

Indeed, there is a lot of excitement for the new-look Chiefs, who will kick off their 2018 regular season in Carson against the Los Angeles Chargers.
