The Kansas City Chiefs are expecting receiver Mecole Hardman to have a breakout season during his second year in the NFL.

Additionally, some of Hardman's teammates are also expecting big things from him. In an interview with the media on Friday, Tyreek Hill predicted that Hardman would take a big stride in the 2020 season:

“Well, I think Mecole [Hardman] is going to continue to be a heck of a player … But it’s all about mindset. I feel like if he continues to do what he has been doing in the past and works his butt off, he’s going to be amazing. There is no ceiling for this kid. I feel like he’s definitely a 1000-yard receiver every year, with the targets obviously. But he’s just got to continue to work. He’s got to be different, he’s got to find something to be different every year.

“It just can’t be speed, it can’t just be relying on route running. Sometimes there’s going to be a contested catch. Sometimes you’ve got to get off a jam [at the line of scrimmage]. You’ve got to work on those things. I feel like he is going to work on those things because he wants to be great and he wants to be a part of this offense. He likes the challenge, so he’s going to be great.”

Those are some high expectations coming from a Pro Bowl receiver. Nevertheless, if Hardman has the right mindset like Hill said, he can certainly become one of the Chiefs' top targets and potentially one of the best receivers in the NFL.

This past season, Hardman showed plenty of promise. The 22-year-old scored six touchdowns on just 41 targets and 26 receptions and another score as a kick returner. Hardman, selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, also recorded those impressive stats while getting little playing time in his rookie season.
