Patrick Mahomes is hoping that he can catch Tom Brady in Super Bowl rings, but he's surpassed him in another area. It was revealed on Friday that the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback passed Brady in NFL merchandise sales.

The NFLPA released the top 50 list of merchandise sales between March 1, 2019 through February 29, 2020. While Brady has manned the No. 1 spot for quite some time, Mahomes took the mantle in the past year.

As a matter of fact, Brady has impressively finished in the top three in merchandise sales in the past 18 years. With Brady joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his sales could skyrocket in the coming months. Also, it helps that the Buccaneers unveiled a new set of uniforms for the 2020 season.

On the other hand, Mahomes continues to sweep the nation on the field and off of it. Just this past season, Mahomes was able to win the first Super Bowl of his young career in the NFL. The gunslinging signal-caller also secured the Super Bowl MVP Award after delivering in the clutch moments of the Super Bowl.

Behind Mahomes and Brady, Lamar Jackson finished at the No. 3 spot for merchandise sales in the past year. Jackson was rewarded the NFL's MVP Award in 2019 in just his second season in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens.

In just two seasons as a starter with the Chiefs, Mahomes has cemented himself as arguably the best quarterback in the NFL. Besides having the label of the best quarterback, Mahomes can say he is the most marketable player in the entire NFL — even more than Brady.
