It is no secret that the Seattle Seahawks are in the midst of a complete roster overhaul this offseason. As a result, running back Thomas Rawls is among the notable players that Seattle has parted ways with.

The Seahawks decided not to tender Rawls this week. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, he has already met with the Kansas City Chiefs:

Another RB the Seahawks did not tender: Thomas Rawls. He’s visiting the Chiefs today, source said. He’s looking to recapture what he had a rookie.

The Seahawks have essentially cleaned house at the running back position this offseason. Rawls will now be departing with last year's free agent signing in Eddie Lacy. Needless to say, both of their seasons were rather disappointing.

Rawls had burst onto the scene in Seattle during his rookie year after going undrafted prior to the 2015 NFL season. The former undrafted free agent started the year buried on the depth chart. However, it was not long before Rawls established himself as the complementary back behind running back Marshawn Lynch. He ultimately wound up rushing for 830 yards and four touchdowns.

Unfortunately, Rawls has been unable to build on his stellar rookie campaign due to injuries and inconsistent play. As a result, it seems Seattle was not willing to wait around and see if he can get back on track.

He is now looking for a fresh start with a new team. The Chiefs certainly make for an intriguing option. It is likely that Rawls could be brought in as another complimentary option to running back Kareem Hunt, who is coming off a spectacular rookie campaign of his own.
