The NFL reportedly interviewed neither Kareem Hunt, nor the woman he assaulted about the incident that occurred in a Cleveland hotel last February, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. The NFL claims to have reached out to the woman and her friends, but didn't receive a response.

The video, released by TMZ, shows Hunt in an altercation with a woman who he pushes and kicks once she is on the ground. Hunt was never charged by the police, but two reports were filed, one by each party. Neither report mentioned Hunt kicking the woman.

The league said that they spoke to as many witnesses as possible and determined Hunt was not involved. The video evidence clearly disproves this.

No action was taken by the league or the Chiefs originally, and in an interview with Lisa Salters on ESPN Hunt admitted to lying to Kansas City about his involvement. “The Chiefs are right. I didn’t tell them everything,” he told Salters. “I don’t blame them for anything. My actions caused this… I felt like I let the Chiefs down, my family down, those players down. They are like my brothers.”

In addition to not interviewing Hunt nor the woman involved, the NFL also reportedly told the Chiefs to stop pursuing the video. Hunt was cut by the Chiefs, in part for lying to the organization, and he is not expected to be claimed by any other team.
