The Kansas City Chiefs pulled out some trickery in their Week 4 matchup with the Detroit Lions, with veteran tight end Travis Kelce pitching the ball to running back LeSean McCoy for an extended gain.

After catching a 12-yard reception from last season's NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes, the savvy vet saw his 31-year-old teammate McCoy unguarded, pitching the ball backwards to ā€œShadyā€ before Kelce was brought down by the Lions' secondary.

Playing tag, McCoy took the football for another 20 yards, helping Mahomes' team move the chains and get into the red zone.

Kelce, turning 30 next week, has competed for the Chiefs since the 2013 season. The former third-round pick has been the consummate pro at tight end for Kansas City, turning into one of the league's best pass-catchers and a dynamic part of the fast-paced Chiefs offense.
