The Seattle Seahawks hope to keep their winning streak going as they host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7 of the 2019 NFL season. Running back Chris Carson will be an integral part of their efforts.

Carson emerged as a bonafide workhorse following a breakout 2018 campaign and he has managed to solidify that notion once again this season after a stellar performance versus the Cleveland Browns in Week 6. He was able to gash the Browns' defense for 124 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries during their comeback victory.

The 25-year-old endured a bit of a slow start to the year after failing to top 60 yards while tallying just 15 carries through the first three games. However, running back Rashaad Penny's injury woes opened the door for Carson to take on an increased workload and he was able to take full advantage by topping 100 yards rushing over the last three games.

His recent resurgence has helped him make quite the leap in recent weeks as the NFL's fifth-leading rusher going into Week 7. Given Seattle's affinity for establishing the run game, there is good reason to believe he can continue to produce big numbers this season.

Unfortunately, the Seahawks and fantasy owners alike may have to temper expectations a bit with this week's matchup against the Ravens. Their defense is currently giving up the fourth-fewest yards per game on the ground (80.7) and has largely found a way to negate every rushing attack they have faced so far with the exception of Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb.

Baltimore recently made a splash with the acquisition of former Los Angeles Rams cornerback Marcus Peters. Head coach John Harbaugh has already indicated that Peters should see plenty of playing time this week given his familiarity with quarterback Russell Wilson. However, this could encourage Seattle to attack through the air where Baltimore is still vulnerable as opposed to the ground where they have proven to be stout.

As a result, Carson could very well see some of his touches be relegated to the passing game. He has managed to flash his prowess as a receiver with 19 receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks have taken Penny off the injury report, which indicates that he will be good to go against the Ravens. Although he will likely eat into Carson's overall workload, it will not be enough to result in any significant drop-off in his production. Expect him to tally at least 100 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown in Week 7.
