Thor: Love and Thunder's upcoming release is just around the corner and there hasn't been a single trailer from Marvel Studios yet. And as fans are slowly wondering why Chris Hemsworth's next outing as the God of Thunder hasn't been marketed that much yet, the answer might be key scenes of Christian Bale being reshot just recently.

According to Jeff Sneider of the Ankler via the Direct, the awaited trailer of Thor can be attributed to key scenes involving Bale's Gorr the God Butcher being reshot in Manhattan Beach, California. It's expected that once these reshoots have been completed, it will be only a matter of time before Marvel releases the first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder.

Back in 2019, Kevin Feige addressed the need to reshoot scenes once principal photography has been done.

“Reshoots are key to our films, starting with Iron Man. We always say we’re smart filmmakers at Marvel, but we’re not geniuses and the best way to give notes on a movie is to watch the movie. So we make the movie and go, ‘Oh yeah, no that’s not right. That doesn’t work,” and have a system now that can be quite precise and efficient. Sometimes one day, sometimes fifteen days, sometimes more to continue to go in and make the move the best it can be,” Feige said.

In the comics, Bale's Gorr first appeared in Thor: God of Thunder #1 released in 2013. The God Butcher's whole MO is killing every god in the universe, of which Thor is one, because of his deep distrust in them. It remains to be seen how Taika Waititi interprets this version of Gorr and how Bale is going to flesh him on screen.

What's certain, though, is that Bale's reshot scenes will surely add more layers to Gorr and potentially give the villain a more compelling arc in this fourth Thor movie. In any case, there are still a lot of Marvel projects that can scratch anyone's itch, most notably Moon Knight and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
