The Cleveland Browns have had an embarrassing season this year as they failed many people's expectations. They finished third in the AFC North and missed the playoffs once again despite upgrading their roster in the offseason. The Browns are set to pick No. 10 in the 2020 NFL Draft in hopes of adding a player that'll help them make the playoffs next season.
The Browns will need to strengthen their offensive tackle position as they allowed a lot of pressure to Baker Mayfield during the 2019 season. This upcoming draft will be filled with plenty of offensive tackles, which will be a good thing for the Browns.
Here are three potential targets the Browns should pursue in the 2020 NFL Draft.
3. Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama
Jedrick Wills is an offensive tackle coming out of the University of Alabama. The right tackle shows up in a big way when run blocking, which would be helpful for Browns. He has shown incredible technique and play style when he played last season for the Crimson Tide.
Wills knows the understanding of how to block stunts while keeping a wide base, which is the kind of player the Browns need so that Baker Mayfield will be well protected. Wills will most certainly be a top pick in this upcoming draft, so the Browns must do anything they can to select him.
2. Xavier McKinney, Safety, Alabama
Xavier McKinney is a safety that played three seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide and is projected to be a top 10 pick in the upcoming draft. In his three seasons with the Crimson Tide, he recorded 177 total tackles, five interceptions, and six sacks.
The Browns will most certainly consider selecting him if he's available, as they might need to replace Damarious Randall this upcoming offseason. Randall is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason and it's unclear if the Browns will re-sign him. McKinney would be a tremendous addition for the Browns' defense if they're able to get him in the 2020 draft.
