The Cleveland Browns are set to take on the Houston Texans in a pivotal Week 2 matchup. After sustaining a tough loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Browns look to bounce back against a weak Texans opponent. It's time to continue our NFL predictions series with a Browns Week 2 prediction.

After a busy offseason, the front office brought in a plethora of talented players on the defensive side of the ball. They had a difficult matchup in the season opener, but now they face a putrid Texans offense. We should see the Browns' defense in full swing in Week 2, as they should be too much for Houston to handle.

This is a huge mismatch in Cleveland's favor and we should see the offense feast on Sunday. David Njoku had a nice performance against the Chiefs and could be in store for another big game. Additionally, Baker Mayfield will likely light up the field, while the run game sets the pace on Sunday. With that said, here are four bold predictions for the Browns Week 2 matchup against the Texans.

Browns Week 2 Predictions

4. The defense shuts down the Texans

It's hard to imagine the Texans compete well against the Browns, considering how completely one-sided this matchup is on paper. Cleveland should be getting into the backfield often, stuffing the run, and making life miserable for Tyrod Taylor. Houston might not score until garbage time, if at all. Look for the Browns' defense to completely shut the Texans down on Sunday.

3. David Njoku leads the Browns in receiving again

David Njoku has had a rocky career so far, to say the least. However, he seemed to have come into his own late last year and played as the top pass option in Week 1. With Odell Beckham Jr. ruled out for the second consecutive week, David Njoku could be in line for another big game. Look for the Browns' tight end to get in the end-zone and serve as Baker Mayfield's favorite target.

2. Baker Mayfield looks like the QB1 Cleveland needs

He looked great in Week 1, but it just so happened the Browns lost their season opener. Cleveland has a much easier opponent this time around and we should see Mayfield ball out. He has a great offensive line protecting him, one of the best-run games complimenting him, and a plethora of pass targets at his disposal. Look for Baker Mayfield to play like the QB1 the Browns need to make a run at the Super Bowl.

1. Nick Chubb leads the league in rushing yards in Week 2

It's no secret that Nick Chubb is one of the best running backs in the league. He proved that against the Chiefs and he'll continue that trend against the Texans. Houston is bound to be dominated on the ground in Week 2, which increases Chubb's chances of being the league's top rusher on Sunday. Look for Nick Chubb to record a huge stat line, as he gives the Browns a massive advantage in this game.
