The NBA Offseason has just begun but the L.A. Clippers are already making big moves.

In the first order of business, their move was to offer “The Logo” Jerry West a consultant role, and as of Wednesday, they were able to pry him away from the Golden State Warriors.

Currently, the team is closing in on a deal and awaiting the Inglewood City Council's Thursday vote to approve construction by a company chosen by the Clippers to build a new arena in the city, per Nathan Fenno of the Los Angeles Times.

A new 298-acre stadium for the Rams due to open in 2020 is already underway and, should all of the particulars including buying land adjacent to the arena is all approved, Murphy's Bowl LLC would have a 36-month contract with the city to build the new arena for the Clippers.

The deal would include building a state of the art arena that seats between 18,000-20,000 fans complete with on-site parking. Arena renderings would need to be submitted within 180 days upon approval and it would be fully financed by Clippers owner Steve Ballmer himself.

While the Clippers are currently under lease at Staples Center with AEG until 2024, and would likely need to break the lease to move, the biggest hurdle, should the arena approval move forward, would be convincing third parties and local business owners to sell their land and/or uproot their businesses to make room for the new arena.
