Longtime Los Angeles Clippers voice Ralph Lawler is retiring after 40 seasons with the team, but not before he has a proper sendoff, one that includes legendary comedian Billy Crystal. According to Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, Lawler and Crystal are both excited for the opportunity to call a game together on Jan. 31:

“It’ll be a blast to call a Clippers game alongside Billy Crystal,” said Lawler. “We’ve spent a lot of time talking Clippers basketball over the years, but having him join me on the call will be a whole new experience. I still can’t believe it’s my final season, and to be recognized by a great, longtime Clippers fan like Billy is an honor. I hope he’s been studying his Lawler’s Law books.”

Lawler has been a mainstay in Los Angeles forever and is woven into the fabric of the Clippers. Likewise, Crystal is undoubtedly the team's most famous fan. It will be a treat for fans to listen to the pair call a game during Lawler's final season. Crystal had nothing but kind things to say about the longtime broadcaster:

“Ralph is a fantastic broadcaster and a wonderful man,” said Crystal. “I'm looking forward to calling a game with him. He's a Hall of Famer in my book.”

Billy Crystal is a natural entertainer, so pairing him with the incomparable Lawler should make for excellent television. It's sad that Lawler is hanging it up after this year, but the Clippers are making his final season memorable.
