The Los Angeles Clippers Foundation and Paul George will unveil three brand new basketball courts in the city of Palmdale this Sunday, December 29.

Palmdale has declared Dec. 29 “Paul George Day” and will host an outdoor festival at Domenic Massari Park with booths and activities:

George was born and raised in Palmdale, California. He played his high school ball at Knight in Palmdale.

In his first season with the Clippers, George is averaging 23.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists. The six-time All-Star is shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 39.4 percent from beyond the arc and 91.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The Clippers, after defeating the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas, improved to 23-10 on the season. They are in third place in the Western Conference standings.

George’s mom suffered a stroke when Paul was just a kid. As a result, traveling for her is difficult, which is why George is so happy to be home in Los Angeles playing for the Clippers so that his mom can be at every home game.

The Clippers, with Kawhi Leonard and George leading the way, are championship contenders for the first time in franchise history. They are 2-0 against the Lakers this season.

Basketball fans are hoping the Clippers and Lakers end up meeting in the Western Conference Finals.
