Danilo Gallinari plays for that team in Los Angeles. Not the Lakers. The other team … the Clippers. But even though the Lakers will dominate headlines this season in LA, Gallinari is looking forward to squaring off with LeBron James and the new-look Lakers.

According to Lindsay du Plessis of KweséESPN, Gallinari had this to say about James' move to LA:

“It's going to make the LA game [Clippers v Lakers] more interesting, and it's going to make the Western Conference even tougher. It was already tough, but with him coming to LA it's going to be even worse.”

No doubt, James' addition to the Lakers will make the Clippers-Lakers games a much more intriguing matchup. The Clippers were a good team last year and competed for a playoff spot, but ultimately fell short. They'll be back in the thick of the playoff race again in 2019.

James and the Lakers are must-watch TV regardless of the opposition, but perhaps the LA rivalry will take on new life this season.

Additionally, the Clippers' hopes at securing a playoff spot are in jeopardy with the addition of LeBron James. There are at least 11 — probably 13 if you include Dallas and Memphis — potential playoff teams out West. The race to secure a spot will be grueling.

The Lakers will be the obvious favorite when they play the Clippers, but Gallinari and his Clips won't be backing down from their crosstown rivals anytime soon.

The Staples Center will be rocking when the two teams from Los Angeles meet for the first time.
