L.A. Clippers center DeAndre Jordan is not really known as a scorer or someone who could create most shots on his own, but he shrugged off those perceptions at least on Wednesday night, when he dropped a career-high total of 30 points during a 129-119 road win against the Boston Celtics.

Prior the Boston game, Jordan’s career high was 29 points, per Tomer Azarly of Clutchpoints.

DeAndre also had an efficient shooting night in Boston, going 11-for-14 shooting from the parquet floor of TD Garden. Normally a very bad performer at the charity stripe, Jordan somehow saw his free throw attempts falling against Boston, as he sank eight of his nine free throw shots. Jordan is averaging only 11.8 points per game on 65.2 field goal shooting percentage, and is making just 59.4 percent of his attempts from the foul line. The 29-year-old Jordan also finished the game with 13 rebounds and four steals, underscoring his excellence on both ends of the floor.

The win pushed the Clippers’ record to 30-26, which is currently good for ninth in the Western Conference standings – just half a game behind of the Portland Trail Blazers as of this writing.

Up ahead for DeAndre Jordan and the Clippers is a tough matchup with the Golden State Warriors in Oakland on Feb. 22. With Jordan ultimately staying with the Clippers past the trade deadline, the former Texas A&M Aggie can put his entire focus on helping the team get an unlikely playoff spot despite an injury-ravaged roster and the trade of Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons.
