As the world navigates through the coronavirus pandemic, everyone is watching the NBA and its bubble in Orlando. Well, almost everyone. On Wednesday, Donald Trump claimed he was no longer watching the NBA because Doc Rivers, the LA Clippers, and countless others have been kneeling during the national anthem.

Throughout the first week of seeding games, players and coaches around the league have been taking a knee during the national anthem, just as Colin Kaepernick once got did and got crucified for, to protest police brutality and bring awareness to the Black Lives Matter movement.

In an interview with Fox News Wednesday morning, Trump called NBA players ‘disgraceful' for not standing during the anthem.

“I think it’s disgraceful,” said Donald Trump. “We work with them, we work with them very hard trying to get them open. I was pushing to get them open and then I see everybody kneeling during the anthem. It’s not acceptable to me. When I see them kneeling, I just turn off the game.”

While wearing a hat that says ‘VOTE,' Rivers was asked about Trump's comments, and offered a counter for what he considers to be disgraceful of the President.

“Well, we lost one guy,” Doc Rivers said with a laugh. “So what? We know that justice is on our side and this hat that I'm wearing is what our President is trying to get us to not do, which is just as disgraceful.”

The NBA allowed its players to display messages on jerseys, have ‘Black Lives Matter' on their courts, and encouraged speaking out on social issues.

The Clippers' next game comes on Thursday when they take on the Dallas Mavericks. Maybe Donald Trump won't be watching, but most of the world that's been dying for sports will, and they'll continue to see players as well as coaches making a statement by kneeling during the national anthem.
