The season of the Los Angeles Clippers officially came to a close on Friday night, as they fell to the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of their first-round playoffs matchup. The Clippers did not go down without a fight, though, as they gave the defending champs quite a formidable challenge in the series.

L.A. head coach Doc Rivers was one of the first to show his appreciation to his team for not only putting up a valiant effort against the Dubs, but more importantly, for their outstanding performance throughout the entire season.

Coach Rivers could not help but get emotional as he praised his team for the tireless work they put in day in and day out in a season that is characterized by overachievement.

The Warriors went in for the kill in Game 6, as they set the tone early in this one. Kevin Durant had a monster night, as he finished with a playoff career-high 50 points on 15-26 shooting, along with six three-pointers, six rebounds, five assists, a steal, and a block in 42 minutes of action. The former MVP winner dropped 38 points in the first half alone, as he pretty much made sure that there was not going to be a deciding Game 7.

Danilo Gallinari led the charge for the Clippers, accounting for 29 points (on 11-of-24 field goals) with three three-pointers, five rebounds, two steals, and a block.

Los Angeles may have been eliminated in the first round, but it is without question that they have earned the approval and the respect of thousands of NBA supporters for their tremendous season.
