LOS ANGELES – The NBA is searching for answers after photos surfaced of LA Clippers guard Lou Williams at Magic City gentleman's club in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday. Ahead of Saturday night's game against the Washington Wizards, head coach Doc Rivers met with members and addressed the photos that went viral.

“I can't share much with his journey because I wasn't on that journey with him,” Rivers joked. “But he's back here. Obviously those [photos] got out and that's something we obviously didn't enjoy seeing or liked.”

This appeared to start after Rivers mentioned Williams leaving the Orlando bubble during Friday's media availability.

Shortly after, however, photos surfaced of Williams at what appeared to be a club

Williams later said Instagram that he'd left to attend the funeral of his grandfather.

As Rivers was speaking with the media on Saturday, news came out that the NBA has opened an investigation into Williams' whereabouts during his team-excused absence. In speaking with NBA security following his return to Orlando, Lou Williams admitted to going to Magic City gentleman's club during his trip. It's presumed that the Clippers' guard arrived in Atlanta on Wednesday night and went to the club that same evening before the Thursday funeral.

The NBA will now decide how they want to handle the actions of Williams. He took coronavirus tests every day that he was gone, so the minimum quarantine period the NBA would require is four days. It's also entirely possible that the league's medical experts elect for a longer quarantine period.

Doc Rivers doubted that his team would have a fully healthy and cleared roster by opening night. There's no word on Patrick Beverley's status, but Ivica Zubac, Montrezl Harrell, and Landry Shamet have arrived in Orlando or are expected to arrive in the near future.

The Clippers have one more scrimmage game on Monday night before their opening night of the restart, where they'll face the Los Angeles Lakers.

In 60 appearances for the Clippers this season, the three-time Sixth Man of the Year winner averaged 18.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.
