One former NBA exec believes New York Knicks small forward Marcus Morris would be a good fit for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Morris' name has been mentioned in trade rumors with the February trade deadline looming. The Clippers are reportedly one of the teams with interest in trading for the veteran swingman, although it's unknown if the Knicks are open to moving Morris, per Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report:

“Marcus Morris would solve a lot of their problems. He can shoot and is tough enough to play center,” the first former executive said of the New York Knicks forward, earning $15 million on a one-year deal.

The Clippers could send out Mo Harkless and perhaps second-year guard Jerome Robinson to match salary, although it’s unclear what the Knicks would be looking for in return.

In 34 games this season for the Knicks, Morris is averaging 19.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists. He’s shooting 43.7 percent from the field, 46.7 percent from beyond the arc and 82.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Morris signed a one-year, $15 million deal with the Knicks this past offseason. He originally agreed to sign with the San Antonio Spurs, but backed out of his deal. Morris also parted ways with his agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports.

The Clippers are in third place in the Western Conference standings. Technically, they can stand pat at the deadline and be fine heading into the second half of the season.

However, if the Knicks give signals they are willing to trade Morris, the Clippers should try and acquire him for the right price.
