For basketball legend Gary Payton, Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers is not telling the truth about their load management antics on Kawhi Leonard.

Contrary to Rivers' claims that it is the Clippers' philosophy as a team to rest their stars, Payton believes that it is actually Leonard's initiative to be put on load management. Payton thinks that this was part of the deal between the team and Leonard.

Rivers' comments were a response to LeBron James' earlier remarks about load management. For the Los Angeles Lakers forward, he has no intention of resting in the regular season unless he's injured.

James also pointed out that he doesn't know how many more games he's going to play and how many kids are going to watch him, which is why he is trying to play as much as he can.

Payton praised James' attitude. For Payton, the Lakers star is showing everyone how it should be done. Moreover, the former Seattle Supersonics star noted that when you're a player who is making $25-$30 million a year, then it's your obligation to play every game if you're healthy.

Payton beefed up his arguments by citing other workers who spend nine to 10 hours in the office while on minimum wage. NBA players, meanwhile, play for just two hours a night while earning millions. They don't even practice that much in the regular season.
