The L.A. Clippers will be all eyes and ears during Wednesday's showdown between the Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors, keeping crosshairs not only in free agent target Kawhi Leonard, but also Kevin Durant.

The Clippers, who have enjoyed a season that has defied expectations, have closely watched “every Raptors and Warriors game this season,” prepared to take their best shot at them this summer, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

“The Clippers are rather transparently obsessed with chasing Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant in free agency next summer.”

L.A. has already cleared two max slots worth of cap space for next season, a clear sign they would be willing to take a partnership of these two dominant early-season MVP candidates to battle for Western Conference supremacy against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

“It's clear in their hiring,” wrote Windhorst. “They've brought on NBA legend Jerry West and respected journalist Lee Jenkins to the front office in an effort to prepare a grand slam pitch when the time is right.”

Other teams have also been doing their homework, as the New York Knicks hired Durant's close friend Royal Ivey and the Lakers signed Michael Beasley, a longtime war soldier of Durant's hometown of Maryland.

The Clippers' pursuit of Leonard has been intrusive, but effective, as Raptors officials have noticed a Clippers employee at roughly 75 percent of the games played thus far through the season, per Windhorst.

Owner Steve Ballmer has been the mastermind of this hard chase, which would be enveloped with a move to their future arena in Inglewood, forever spacing away from the shadow of the Lakers with either Kawhi Leonard or Kevin Durant — or both.
