Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is still not in full health as he recently experienced soreness in his right foot which sidelined him for a total of five games. He then shed light on his injury and claimed that he has been nursing it for a while though he has already taken steps to recover from it, especially as his team heads towards the upcoming playoffs, via Farbod Esnaashari.

Leonard has missed significant action as of late as he already sat out nine of their last 10 games. He also missed five consecutive games dating back to April 20 against the Portland Trail Blazers due to the right foot soreness that he is currently experiencing. In his absence, the Clippers managed to hold their ground as they went for a 3-2 win-loss tally.

On Saturday night, the 29-year-old swingman eventually returned to the starting lineup as they hosted another contender in the Denver Nuggets on their home floor. The two teams figured in a tight exchange but Nikola Jokic and company proved to be the better team down the stretch as they emerged on a 110-104 victory.

In his first game back, Leonard only notched 16 points, five rebounds, and six assists through 30 minutes played. Meanwhile, his running mate in Paul George led the team with 20 points and seven rebounds to contribute to their losing cause. Their latest defeat against Denver turned out to be huge as the Clippers dropped to a 43-22 record for the fourth spot in the Western Conference while the Nuggets got ahead of them with a 43-21 tally to grab the third seed.

Even though Kawhi Leonard already made his return on the floor, his minutes are still expected to be limited, especially now that they are poised to secure a postseason spot in their coming games. The Clippers are hoping that the five-time All-Star will be ready to go sooner than later as they seek to close out the regular season and enter the playoffs with winning momentum.
