Kawhi Leonard drops $6.725 million on penthouse across from Staples Center
LA Clippers All-Star Kawhi Leonard has dropped a cool $6.725 million on a penthouse across from the Staples Center, according to a report from The Los Angeles Times.
Leonard, who joined the Clippers this offseason after leading the Toronto Raptors to their first championship, won’t have to go far for work with this new purchase. He actually got a minor discount on the unit, as it was previously listed at $6.995 million.
Centered on the downtown cityscape, the 4,280-square-foot unit features vibrant wood floors, walls of glass, two custom fireplaces and magnetic, wall-mounted iPads for controlling smart home systems. The family room adjoins a center-island kitchen with a breakfast nook. In the master suite, there’s a steam shower.
A pair of underground parking spaces were included with the three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom residence, which had been listed for $6.995 million. A rooftop swimming pool, a fitness center and valet and concierge services are among building amenities.
Leonard has been an excellent addition to the Clippers’ lineup. The former San Diego State standout has made 19 appearances with his new team thus far, racking up averages of 24.9 points on 45.2 percent shooting from the field (33.7 percent from beyond the arc), 7.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and and 1.9 steals in 31.s minutes per outing.
The Clippers (19-7) have won five of their last six games. They’ll be back in action on Friday night, as they’re scheduled to face the Minnesota Timberwolves (10-14). Tip-off inside the Target Center is set for 9:30 p.m. ET, with ESPN having live broadcast coverage.
