Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard on reception from Raptors fans, Canadians in Los Angeles
Leonard had a magical year with the Raptors. He guided the franchise to its first-ever championship and won his second Finals MVP.
The three-time All-Star and two-time Defensive Player of the Year admits he’s run into a few Raptors fans and Canadians in Los Angeles.
“I was just telling someone the other day, it’s shocking to me how many Canadians do live here in America or just visiting, just walking around, people saying I’m from Toronto, or you’re from Winnipeg or these different cities in Canada,” Leonard said, via ClutchPoints’ Tomer Azarly. “You know, you’ll never know unless you go play up there and they recognize your talent for playing for the Raptors.”
Last season with the Raptors, Leonard averaged 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists during the regular season. He will get a rousing standing ovation when the Clippers head to Toronto.
In seven games this season with the Clippers, Leonard has been stellar. He’s putting up 29.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists while shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 30.6 percent from beyond the arc and 86.8 percent from the free-throw line.
