Los Angeles Clippers superstar small forward Kawhi Leonard wants to let everyone know one more time he wasn't a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers growing up.

Leonard says all the people who said he was going to sign with the Lakers because they were his childhood team were proven wrong in free agency after he signed with the Clippers.

“Y’all kept saying that me and Paul’s favorite team growing up was the Lakers. I’m not going to say [Yahoo Sports], but whatever media outlet was out there saying that Kawhi prefers the Lakers over the Clippers, or Paul loves the Lakers, was wrong,” Leonard told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. “I wasn’t a fan of the Lakers growing up. Not saying that’s why I didn’t choose them, but that’s not what it is. I wasn’t a fan of them, and [Paul] just told you guys he was a Clippers fan.”

Kawhi Leonard signed a three-year deal with the Clippers. Both he and Paul George are ready to lead the Clippers to their first-ever championship next season.

Los Angeles is always going to be a Lakers town. However, if Leonard and PG can deliver a title next season to Clipper Nation, you might see the Battle of Los Angeles really take off in terms of fan support.
