The LA Clippers underwent arguably the most significant personnel changes in the entire NBA this offseason, losing nine players from the 2016-17 roster to trades or free agency and adding in another nine heading into the 2017-18 season.

Chris Paul, J.J. Redick, Jamal Crawford, Luc Mbaha Moute, Raymond Felton, Paul Pierce, Brandon Bass, Alan Anderson, and Marreese Speights all saw their time with the Clippers come to an end. Patrick Beverley, Sam Dekker, Lou Williams, and Montrezl Harrell came over from the Houston Rockets in the trade for Paul, while Danilo Gallinari, Milos Teodosic, Willie Reed, Jawun Evans, and Sindarius Thornwell all signed on with LA.

Whether many fans like it or not, the Clippers needed some kind of change this offseason to bring some new life into a franchise that had solid regular season success, but came up short in the postseason with the same core over the last five seasons.

Golden State Warriors' all-star forward Kevin Durant seems to think so as well. The 2017 NBA Finals MVP joined Bill Simmons' podcast, where he discussed his best friend DeAndre Jordan and the new-look Clippers.

Bill Simmons: What does DeAndre say about the revamped Clippers? I know you're buddies.

Kevin Durant: They like it. He's excited. He's excited about it. Me and DeAndre; that's my best friend in the league. You could tell that at some point that everybody there needed some new life and energy. Whether it was somebody was leaving or somebody was bringing in another big player, they needed some new energy, and you could sense that now with the Clips. Especially with Doc just being the head coach now. I think that's going to be good for him. And this is all my opinion, so anybody getting offended by it, I'm sorry. It's just how I feel.

Durant has been pretty outspoken this summer, responding to trolls on social media, mainly Twitter, and speaking about a number of topics including some of the biggest news in Kyrie Irving requesting a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Clippers themselves haven't put a goal out on the table for themselves, as they've yet to have a single practice and their two starting forwards in Blake Griffin (tear of plantar plate in toe) and Danilo Gallinari (fractured hand) both dealing with injuries.

One thing is for sure: no one knows the ceiling of this Clippers team and they'll make for one of the most intriguing watches in an ultra-competitive Western Conference heading into the NBA season.
