With the future star forward Kawhi Leonard with the San Antonio Spurs completely up in the air right now, one team that is reportedly making a trade package for Leonard is the L.A. Clippers.

Consider the L.A. Clippers one of the many teams keeping tabs on the situation. The Clippers are planning a trade package if Leonard ultimately becomes available, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

According to an article written by Sam Amick, one person close to the Clippers spoke exclusively to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.

“Landing Leonard – who grew up outside of Los Angeles in Moreno Valley, hails from San Diego State and is known to be a favorite of Clippers consultant Jerry West – would be well worth the hefty price it would take to get him. Maybe the Clippers offer their two first-round picks in this June’s draft, and whatever combination of other talent the Spurs want in return. And suddenly, they’re back in Western Conference contention again,” Amick said.

At this point in time, it is anyone's guess as to exactly how this whole situation with Leonard plays out prior to the beginning of the 2018-19 NBA season. Even if the Clippers were to somehow find a way to acquire Leonard via trade, they would surely have to fork over quite a lot of talent and draft picks to the Spurs.

When will this bizarre and wild situation with Leonard finally be resolved? Have we already seen the two-time All-Star and 2014 NBA Finals MVP play his last game in a Spurs uniform?
