The NBA has fined the Los Angeles Clippers $50,000 for statements that were inconsistent with Kawhi Leonard's health status.

The Clippers sat Leonard on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks:

The Clippers are planning to load manage Kawhi Leonard all season since it worked for the Toronto Raptors last season.

Last season with the Raptors, Leonard averaged 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists during the regular season. He guided the Raptors to the championship over the Golden State Warriors in six games and won his second Finals MVP.

Leonard dealt with left knee tendinitis during the Finals against the Warriors. The Clippers are monitoring that and Leonard's quad ailment which forced him to miss most of the 2017-18 season with the San Antonio Spurs.

Kawhi has played in six games this season. He's putting up 29.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists per contest while shooting 47.4 percent from the field, 35.5 percent from beyond the arc and 86.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The Clippers are 5-3. They take on the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday after losing to the Milwaukee Bucks at home on Wednesday by a final score of 129-124.

Whether people like it or not, LA is going to load manage Leonard because they want the superstar to be as close to 100 percent once the playoffs start.
