The Los Angeles Clippers have officially hired Todd Wright, the former strength coach of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Over the past couple of days, there have been reports that the Clippers were heavily pursuing Wright, with the hopes of giving him a high-ranking post in their sports science department. Now that he's officially with the team, he's expected to work closely with their two best players, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

Leonard and George have been dealing with injuries over the past couple of years. The former is two years removed from a serious quad injury that sidelined him for almost the entire 2018-19 season. While the latter is still recovering from the shoulder injury he suffered last season.

The Clippers will obviously want Wright to make sure that the health of both All-Stars is closely monitored next season. They are expected to contend for a championship, and an injury to either Kawhi or PG will definitely hurt their chances. The veteran strength and conditioning coach will definitely have one of the most important jobs in the franchise moving forward.

Wright has been the Sixers' strength coach for the past four seasons. But before becoming a regular figure in the NBA sidelines, he was strength and conditioning coach for the University of Texas men’s basketball team for 14 years.

The Clippers are making moves to improve not only their roster but their coaching staff as well. Wright is definitely a huge get for the team, and it looks like they're all set to go for the title next season.
