As the Los Angeles Clippers prepare for the postseason, the team just announced that it has waived forward Luc Mbah a Moute:

This move ends Mbah a Moute’s second stint with the Clippers after an injury-filled season. After signing with the team in the offseason, Mbah a Moute played in just four games for the Clippers before injuring his knee in a game in late October.

From there, he looked at receiving non-surgical treatments, but eventually underwent a partial medial meniscectomy on his left knee late last month. The surgery should have him ready to play next season, but Mbah a Moute will be another year older and likely hoping to catch on with another contending team that could use his services off the bench.

As for the Clippers, they are currently sitting at 47-33 and have clinched a surprising playoff berth after many around the league had penciled them in to miss the postseason in a tough Western Conference. Despite the poor projections, the Clippers are currently sitting at sixth in the standings and will be headed to the playoffs after missing out last season.

With a potential matchup against one of the best teams in the Western Conference looking likely, the Clippers will need as many contributions from their role players as possible as they look to throw a wrench into the postseason with a big upset win.

LA will likely look to add a player after waiving Mbah a Moute.
